Smog Our Latest Life Threat

Humans have not made as much progress in these hundred years as they have in the last several hundred years. This speed of development is so fast that if a person from a hundred years ago accidentally came into this world, he would be surprised to see the current technology and dust because we have paid for it by mortgaging our lives. And today, this poison has settled in our breath in the form of environmental pollution, or smog.

The air we breathe has become so toxic that it has destroyed the ozone layer, causing urban air pollution to turn into smog. According to a new study, the life expectancy of children born today could be shortened by an average of 20 months due to air pollution, and the impact will be greater in South Asia.

According to the State of Global Air report, air pollution, or smog, is the fifth leading cause of premature death worldwide after malaria, traffic accidents, malnutrition, and alcohol.

In East Asia, the study found that air pollution could shorten the lives of children by an estimated 23 months, while in developed parts of North America and the Asia-Pacific, children's lives could be shortened by 20 weeks.

Despite government-level regulations on air pollution, China has the highest number of deaths due to air pollution compared to other countries, with 852,000 deaths due to air pollution in 2017 alone. The top five countries with the highest number of deaths due to air pollution are in Asia, including China, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Bangladesh. According to the report, it is impossible to estimate the number of deaths worldwide since 2017.

A study by the World Health Organization found that 600,000 children under the age of 15 die every year from indoor or outdoor air pollution. Children breathe faster than older people, so their lungs are more likely to be affected. WHO data shows that children under the age of 15 breathe 93% of the most deadly air every day. According to experts, Pakistan is facing significant environmental challenges due to increasing pollution.

The rate of citizens getting sick is increasing, and every citizen is living three years less of their total life on average due to this pollution. There are many causes of environmental pollution, such as deforestation, increased smoke and dust emissions due to increased traffic, the burning of garbage, increased emissions of toxic gases from factories, and increased use of electricity and gas. increase in intensity, etc. Air pollution, or smog, is increasing rapidly in Pakistan, the responsibility for which is also imposed on the citizens to some extent. According to the World Health Organization, Pakistan, Iran, and Mongolia are among the most polluted countries in the world.

One of the great properties of plastic is that it can be easily molded into different shapes. This is the reason why most household items in the world are made of plastic. According to the Department of Environment, the sad thing is that plastic bags neither rot in the ground and become garbage, nor do they cease to exist and do not become a part of the earth. Apart from this, a ban is being imposed on the construction of new plastic bag manufacturing factories.

According to the Meteorological Department, syringes used in hospitals, glucose bottles, and plastic waste collected from the city are used to make plastic bags. Recycled plastic is made at 80 degrees Celsius, which is insufficient to kill bacteria and germs in the waste. Even if plastic bags lie in the ground or are buried for centuries, they do not decompose; if burned, they cause air pollution and many diseases.

For the past few years, for a few days every year in winter, people in Pakistan and India have been exposed to a new type of air pollution called smog. Smog increases air pollution at an alarming rate, which worsens the air quality, and people living in smog-affected areas suffer from throat and respiratory diseases. One of the main reasons for the increase in environmental pollution is the increasing use of petroleum products and various types of chemicals.

They produce gases that are not suitable for our planet's atmosphere. No one is ready to take environmental pollution seriously. People are throwing garbage in the street, encroachment on the streets and roads, setting the garbage piles on fire is increasing the environmental pollution, and trees are being cut. .

There is no ban on toxic fumes from factories. Since this problem is not of a single country or nation, but of the whole world and all the races living in it, everyone should find a solution for it together.
