Babar Azam Leaves from
captaincy in all Three formats.
Babar Azam has stepped down
from captaincy in all formats following a gathering with Zaka Ashraf, the
director of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) The executives Council.
During the gathering, Babar
was educated that the board expected to hold him as the commander for red-ball
cricket yet would replace him in white-ball cricket.
Avoiding the chance be bound
to administration in a particular format, Babar communicated his longing to
leave captaincy in all formats and quickly left the meeting.
An hour subsequent to leaving the NCA, Babar officially declared his resignation through a proclamation posted on his social media platforms.
Pakistan lost five matches
during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, completing beyond the semi-last
qualification places. What's more, Babar was generally off form with the bat,
scoring 320 runs in his 9 innings and having a top score of only 74.
The previous highest level
ODI batter on the world, who averages 56.72 in the ODI with 19 centuries to his
name, says he will keep on being accessible to play for Pakistan in all formats
going ahead, and will offer his help to whoever takes over as captain.
"I will keep on
addressing Pakistan as a player in each of the three formats. I'm here to help
the new skipper and the team with my experience and devotion.
I want to give my earnest on
account of the Pakistan Cricket Board for entrusting me with this enormous
responsibility," he added
